Canvas

I bought one a deal on Gilt City for the service that turns one of your photos into a canvas, but now I'm having trouble figuring out which photo to use.

The canvas will hang in my formal living room, which is currently gray, black and yellow, but will soon have a POP of yellow. Some chairs I bought for a fantastic price at an antique store are currently being recovered (for a price that makes my fantastic price, not so fantastic) in a pale yellow stripe. I want to pull in the yellow in the chairs with the photo and some pillows on the black sofa.

I'm no professional photographer, but I like to pretend I have some skills. I took a few photos while in Spain that I think might work for the canvas. Currently considering the following:yes, the same as the blog header.

Leaning toward the second photo. Also leaning toward none of the above and thinking of just getting a black and white photo from our wedding since we, for some reason, have none in our house. Not sure how that happened. Options, options.

I'm finding it hard to get back into the swing of things after having my brother here for three and a half weeks and getting back from vacation!

Looking for the motivation to start working out, blog, prepare the house for a visit from the parents and make my husband a dinner that doesn't come in a bag. Where are you motivation?

fin de semana

This weekend is the last one that my little brother will be spending here with us. We are planning a trip to the Ft. Worth Stockyards and dinner at his favorite, Texas Roadhouse. Other than that, I plan to enjoy the time with him - I know I'll miss him when he's gone!

braid aspirations

I've spent quite a few hours in front of the mirror trying to perfect the bohochicthistook foreverbutI'mgoingtotellyouthatittookmefiveminutes braid. I stand there until my arms are sore and all of my bobby pins are unusable and all I have left to show for it is a super sloppy, unkempt, hmmmm, I don't know if I can even call it a braid. It's more of three pieces of hair that have been forcibly entangled and stuck with pain to my head. The girls in the Wednesday Braid group on Flickr put me to shame. Check out their braid masterpieces.

dresser decor

My creativity level is one thing that I wish would creep a bit higher. I came across the photo of this dresser and thought, "Now why didn't I think of making a dresser look like mailed letter?" I often stare at this photo hoping to extract some of the creativity and apply it to my bedroom decor.

summer weather in Texas

There's a summer storm headed our way with all the works - thunder, lightning and rain (apparently a tornado too, yikes!). I love it. Gonna enjoy some pizza with my two main men - my husband and little brother!
