Gears & Glamour 2009

For the past couple of months I've been doing some volunteer PR work for the United Cerebral Palsy of North Texas (UCP). It has been such a great experience and I am so happy to give my time to an organization that serves such a broad rage of people. You would think from the name, that services offered by UCP are limited to those with cerebral palsy, but the truth is that 70 percent of people who are offered care at the UCP have a condition other than cerebral palsy. What an amazing testament to the reach that UCP has across North Texas!

On October 3, UCP is teaming up with Rick Fairless' Strokers Dallas for a fashion show unlike any that Dallas has seen. Fashion, motorcycles and music will create an explosion of rebel and chicness at the Gears & Glamour fashion show, where local public personalities will strut their stuff on the runway, modeling the latest in motor clothes and casual wear. The party continues after the show with a mini-concert by local rock band The PowderKegz.

Rock 'n' roll and fashion have always gone hand-in-hand. How many models have been in rock videos? How many rock gods have given their hearts and souls to the captivating beauties that jet across the world to walk runway after runway? Add in the freedom of a ride down a long stretch of highway with nothing but the road and scenery in front of you and you've found a trifecta made in (hog) heaven!

Gears & Glamour offers a place for the fashionistas and riders to create a powerful partnership. It's clear that both audiences are very passionate about their products. The fashion-savvy work hard to spend beaucoup dollars on designer clothes and accessories to look their best. They demonstrate their loyalty at every fall and spring fashion show (front row, of course). It's not much different from the faithfulness exhibited by riders who don't mind dropping a chunk of their hard-earned change for a sleek ride. And like the fashionistas at the shows, riders never miss a chance to connect with their cronies at bike rallies across the country.

The Gears & Glamour show is the perfect way to unite both these passions, create a powerful statement and raise money for UCP's mission of creating a Life Without Limits for People With Disabilities.

There are several great sponsorship opportunities, which will create a platform for your brand in the Gears & Glamour marketing and promotional materials as well as exposure on the day of the event. If sponsorship isn't for you, but you must be at the event, individual tickets are for sale too! You can get more information at www.gearsandglamour.com.

Don't miss the opportunity to get your rebel on and help the UCP create a life without limits for people with disabilities!

PS I'm cross-posting this blog from my other one :)
